every aspect of Korea in Hetalia is formed by some sort of racist perspective by typical Japanese racists point of view. like when he claims every thing is his. that comes from the issue that during WW2 Japan had tried destroying all of the culture of Korea that they didn't like and stealing the culture the did like. for example the Korean artworks are sitting in Tokyo museum right now claiming to have come from Japan. so when Korea says it belongs to them, Japan lies and says that they try and steal everyone's culture for themselves. the reason Korea is childish in Hetalia is because Korea wants Japan to confess of the comfort women act, but because it would even be seen as a dishonorable act in Japan they don't want to admit to committing such atrocities, and instead try to claim Koreans are the guilty one claiming that all Korean women are prostitutes and all Korean men are dealers. and I've even heard some of them claim that lying and prostitution is in Koreans blood and culture and Americans are stupid westerners for believing Korea's lies. I would have slapped the people who said that all over the place had I had the chance. anyway they think Korea is being "immature" for "making up stories" for "sympathy and attention" and that's why Korea is childish in Hetalia. and Korea is portrayed as a pervert but perverts are a problem in Japan not Korea... Japan is the ones with used pantie vending machines for crying out loud. and when Korea is obsessed with Japan flag, that's an insult because Japan destroyed the original Korean flag... the one we see today isn't the original, Japan destroyed the original and no one knows what it looked like anymore. and Korea distorts history in Hetalia, but in real life Japan is the one who won't teach in their schools what they did to Korea. they can only come up with terrible lies about Korea so they don't take any blame for what they did. and that is why Korea acted not "overreacted" they had every right to do what they did. especially if Japan could threaten war against Korea for making a somewhat similar manhwa and no one say Japan was over reacting... that story didn't even hit the otaku forums or anything... you should definately spread that news ajshim. what manhwa was it? is there an article I can read? I can read Korean too so if it's in Hangul that's fine.

The whole thing is based a Japanese perceived ethnic stereotypes. Japan is pretty racist towards Japanese people too if you wanna get nitty gritty.
The depiction of Commodore Perry's opening is demoted to dragging hikkomori Japan out of his bedroom. I'm pretty sure Italians are pissed off too. Let's not pretend perverts don't exist in Korea or something. Also Hetalia isn't exactly political commentary here. I mean Hetalia doesn't touch on Cuban/American relationships either (though they do depict Cuba as hating America).
Legit reasons for disliking Hetalia yes, however, I can't find a bone in my body that takes it that seriously.
