Depression Stamp

As somebody who has had this happen to her by a friend so called.. saying to somebody the above phrase will not help them with their depression. They are perfectly aware of this fact already and don't need people pointing it out to them.
I had lived with depression through my late teen years and have had somebody use that saying on me. 'It did not help my depression at all. It made it worse because it showed that the person I thought was a good and understanding friend was actually ignorant and could care less.
Saying 'you have nothing to be depressed about." is not good advice and it will make things worse.
if somebody you know is suffering through depression at least try to be considerate. Don't just blow it off. It could lead to things like suicide because it makes the person feel even more hopeless and they could begin to think that nobody understands them or cares and that the world would be much better without them.
